As of January 2011, China has sold a total of 330,000 new energy vehicles, of which 80% are hybrid electric vehicles. Meanwhile, the cumulative sales of foreign new energy vehicles in China is 160,000. . In 2020, the "Sino-German Electric Vehicle Cooperation Development Report" jointly edited by the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers and the German Association of the Automotive Industry was officially released. The report shows that in recent years, my country's new energy vehicles have developed rapidly. Since 2015, the production and sales have ranked first in the world for five consecutive years, and 1.206 million vehicles were sold in 2019. As of the end of June 2020, the number of new energy vehicles in my country has reached 4.17 million, accounting for 1.16% of the total domestic vehicle ownership; my country has a total of 1.321 million charging piles, including 558,000 public charging piles and 76.3 private charging piles. million units. In Germany, electric vehicles have also entered a period of rapid development and have become the largest electric vehicle market in Europe in the first half of 2019. Globally, the global sales of new energy vehicles in 2020 will be about 2.2 million, an increase of 10% over 2018, with a market share of 2.5%, a record high [16].


As of the end of May 2021, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the number of new energy vehicles in my country is about 5.8 million, accounting for about 50% of the global total of new energy vehicles. From 5 to 8 years after 2021, there will be a large number of in-use vehicles with National IV standards and below that will be gradually eliminated and replaced in my country, which will bring greater development space to the new energy vehicle market. In the next five years, the growth rate of electric vehicle production and sales is expected to remain above 40%.

On December 14, 2021, Fu Bingfeng, executive vice president of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said at the "2022 China Automobile Market Development Forecast Summit" held in Yibin, Sichuan, that it is expected that China's new energy vehicle sales in 2021 are expected to reach 3.4 million units. In 2021, the annual output of new energy vehicles will be 3.677 million, an increase of 152.5% over the previous year [28].

On April 7, 2022, the Ministry of Public Security released statistics showing that by the end of March 2022, the number of motor vehicles in the country reached 402 million, of which 307 million were cars, accounting for 76.37% of the total number of motor vehicles; 100 million people, including 450 million car drivers; the number of new energy vehicles reached 8.915 million.
